Soddy-Daisy Firefighters Association
The Soddy-Daisy Firefighters Association provides aid and assistance to the Soddy-Daisy Fire Department the Members of the Department and the Community of Soddy-Daisy.
The Association hosts the annual Christmas program where children and families that otherwise may not have a Christmas are given toys and gifts. New toys are gathered all year with a drive just before Christmas. With the help of local merchants hundreds of children receive toys every year.
The association funds the Soddy-Daisy Fire Department Cadet Scholarship program where members of the Fire Department Cadet Program receive a scholarship when they graduate from high school to further their education in what ever field they chose to pursue. The Regular Members of the department are volunteers from all walks of life and a good education is the base for learning modern firefighting techniques.
The Firefighters Association funds equipment, supplies and training for the Soddy-Daisy Fire Department. The association helps the city provide the level of protection it does to the citizens and visitors of Soddy-Daisy.
The first Saturday of every month the association holds a breakfast at Fire Station One. After a hearty breakfast an association meeting is held to conduct the business of the association. Visitors are welcome at the free breakfast and the meeting.
The Firefighters Association funds all the programs with donations and fund raising events. The association holds a yard sale at Fire Station Three each year selling donated items. The association normally uses only one program to ask for money from the public. The Fire Boot you may see in a store is to collect funds for the Christmas program and you will see Firefighters in front of the local stores with the boots a few weeks before Christmas.
